With the help of ten second sound bites, half hour infomercials, and hours of debates, Americans witnessed and some even participated in the ongoing American Conversation that takes place daily in our nation. Throughout coffee shops, student lounges, and even around the proverbial kitchen table, we engage in a conversation that touches almost every corner of our lives. With the freedom of speech written firmly into our Constitution, the genuine exchange of ideas centered on matters of public importance proves to be critical in the advancement of America. To this end, the American Conversation remains the most important discourse you and I could ever join.

The aim of this website is to present a variety of views on the different issues caught up in the American Conversation. Editors here at the American Conversation desire to foster an environment in which debate is respectful, fact-based, and focused on the issues. We’ll be looking at different aspects of the Conversation ranging from politics to faith to current events. Only through ongoing conversations will we be able to see the “big ideas” wrapped up in this discourse.
